Obituary | Larry L. Leemon, 73, of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Lomira

May 4, 2021 – Sturgeon Bay, Wi – Larry L. Leemon, 73, of Sturgeon Bay, formerly of Lomira, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Larry was born on December 30, 1947, in Ripon, the son of the late Ralph “Fuzzy” and Shirley (nee Ninneman) Leemon. On May 10, 1975, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Patt at Presentation Catholic Church in North Fond du Lac.

Larry grew up on the family farm in Lomira. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War as a paratrooper in the 82nd airborne with 484 jumps. Larry was an honor guard at President Nixon’s inauguration. In 1976, Larry started his masonry and dairy equipment business where he served the community until he retired in 2009. Larry and Mary Jo then moved to Sturgeon Bay where they enjoyed many fishing excursions. He enjoyed trap shooting where he was a member of Gardner Sportsmans Club, Lomira Sportsmans Club, and Door County Rod and Gun Club.

He was also an avid hunter including many trips to Iowa for pheasants. Larry loved spending time teaching his kids and grandkids hunting and fishing skills.

Those Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Jo; his children, Tammy Leemon, Joshua (Betsy) Leemon, and Carey (Fiancé, Amy) Leemon; three grandchildren, Roux Leemon, Eli and Kinsley Leemon; three step-grandchildren, Kali, Jonathan, and Cameron Ambrosius; his siblings, Janet (Joe) Lauber, Sharon Dworschak, Karen (Randy Robenhorst) Yerges, Patti (Roger) Kirchner, and Sandra Holt; brothers-in-law, David (Peg) Patt, Ronald (Becky) Patt, and Timothy (Lori) Patt; two sisters-in-law, Donna (Dan) Gross and Diane (David) Mand; his mother-in-law, Florence Kirk (Henry Witzke); other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two children, Corey Leemon and Wendy Leemon; his father-in-law, Hilbert Patt; a brother-in-law, Wayne Dworschak.

VISITATION: Larry’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 350 Main Street in Lomira, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A funeral service for Larry will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 3 p.m.
