Major expansion approved for Metal Craft and Starbucks gets the green light

Nov. 2, 2016 – West Bend, WI – A relatively speedy Plan Commission meeting at West Bend City Hall on Tuesday evening and a couple major developments got the green light.

  • Metal Craft of Mayville will move forward on a 20,000-square-foot to its building on Metal Craft Road. Construction should start shortly with completion targeted for early spring. The added space will allow Metal Craft to add about 30 more staff.

  • Rezoning was approved for the home at 724 Beech Street. The owner of Isadora’s Bed & Breakfast
asked for the parcel to be rezoned from commercial to 2-family residential. Darrell & Deborah Ziebarth are trying to sell the property and they thought a rezoning will help their effort.  Neighbors in the area were told about the proposed change and since nobody complained or spoke during the public hearing the item was approved.

  •  The Plan Commission also approved a conditional use permit for a permanent cosmetic makeup establishment, 1747 Barton Avenue. Patsy Amenda is going to open Salon Ink Me Beautiful inside Revive in Barton.

  •  And it approved a concept plan to construct a corridor connector between two CBRF buildings to allow interior access between buildings at Meadows at Arbor Place, 330 & 340 Arbor Place.

Finally the Plan Commission signed off on the development of a new Starbucks in the lot just to the north of Sendik’s on 18th Avenue. Commission member Jim White had a question about Dumpster location. He wondered if the heavy traffic would hinder pickup and he had concerns about the capacity of the drive thru.

All questions were answered by representative Eric J. Neumann and with that “Welcome Starbucks!”

This will be the third Starbucks in West Bend. For details on the two other stores click HERE.
