Man involved in fatal accident in neighboring Dodge Co. is identified

Dec. 23, 2016 – Dodge Co., WI -The sheriff in neighboring Dodge County has released more information regarding a fatal accident that happened last September in the Township of Theresa.


The unidentified male driver has been tentatively identified as Mauricio Camacho-Flores (33 years old, from Mexico).  Information regarding the identity can be obtained by contacting the Dodge County Medical Examiner.  Information regarding the crash can be obtained by contacting Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt.  The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Medical Examiner and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.


Original post: On Sept. 22, 2016 at 3:52 pm, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Highway AY near County Highway Y, in the Township of Theresa, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigation showed that Jonathan Murray (43 years old, from rural Mayville, WI) was operating a 2012 Ford pickup truck south on Cth AY.   An unidentified male was operating a 2004 Ford SUV north on Cth AY.  The vehicles collided in an offset manner and the SUV erupted in flames.  The driver (lone occupant) of the Ford SUV was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.  Murray suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The Dodge County Medical Examiner is working to determine the identity of the SUV driver.

Assisting at the scene was:  Mayville Police Department, Theresa Fire Department, Kekoskee First Responders, Theresa EMS, Flight for Life, DECERT, Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
