West Bend, Wi – Memorial Day is Monday, May 26, 2025 and there are ceremonies across Washington County, Wi. In West Bend there will be a series of observances culminating with a program at the Old Courthouse Square at Fifth Avenue and Poplar Street. This year’s guest speaker is retired retired Army Col. Christopher D. Kolenda.

The day will begin with a 7:30 a.m. pre-parade starting at Sixth Avenue and Chestnut Street. The motorcycle parade will tour local cemeteries paying respects to veterans who have passed away.

Following will be the Washington County Memorial Day parade, which is scheduled to start off at 9:30 a.m. sharp, with the program to follow.

“The purpose of the Memorial Day parade and program is to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said Parade Chairperson Steve Rohde. “The tossing of candy, handing out material, or commercial advertising will not be allowed.”
Anyone interested in being part of the parade is asked to contact Steve Rohde at 414-5681-4381. Student groups and anyone owning a military vehicle are welcome to join the parade.
The Memorial Day program will start immediately after the parade.
