Milwaukee man arrested for purse snatching and wallet theft in West Bend

Sept. 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Solid police work in West Bend and Washington County as authorities take the man into custody who allegedly stole a woman’s purse at Walmart and then took an 85-year-old man’s wallet while he was at the Citgo in Barton.

On Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, West Bend Investigators identified the suspect as a 30-year-old male, living in Milwaukee.

The identity of the suspect and description of the vehicle were shared with local law enforcement agencies. On Saturday Sept. 23, 2017 at 2:30 a.m., Washington County Sheriff Deputies located the suspect in the area of US HWY 45 and Pleasant Valley Road.

The suspect was getting into a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner. That vehicle was stolen in the City of Milwaukee.

The deputies took the suspect into custody and turned him over to West Bend Police. West Bend Police arrested him for Robbery, Theft, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, and Habitual Criminality. The suspect has prior criminal convictions for Theft, Burglary, Robbery, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of a Scheduled Narcotic. The suspect is presently in the Washington County Jail.


THEFT 1515 W. Paradise Dr. Walmart and STRONG ARM ROBBERY 1516 N. Main St. Barton Citgo

On Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:27 p.m., a 27-year-old female reported that while she was unloading her shopping cart at Walmart, 1515 W. Paradise Dr., a male grabbed her purse that was in the cart, got into a vehicle and left the parking lot. The female victim was not injured in the incident.

On Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at 11:27 a.m., an 85-year-old male reported that while he was filling his car with gas at Barton Citgo, 1516 N. Main St., a male approached him and asked him for a dollar. As the 85 year old was removing the dollar from his wallet, the suspect grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled in a vehicle. The 85 year old was not injured during the robbery.
