Obit: Carl A. Kufahl, 75, of West Bend

Jan. 9, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Carl A. Kufahl, 75, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018.

He was born on September 14, 1942 to the late Robert and Lavern (nee Schmidt) Kufahl in West Bend. On September 21, 1963 he was united in marriage to Terry Hereau in West Bend. He worked at Bermico as a forklift driver for 17 years. Then he was the head custodian at Silverbrook Middle School for 22 years until his retirement.

He was well known for the Silverbrook Duck walk getting the new babies and mother from the courtyard to the stream. Carl was a lifetime blood donor exceeding his lifetime goal of 200 pints. He enjoyed bike riding and playing cards with his family.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Terry Kufahl; four children, Cheri (Mark) Rusch, Bonnie (Bill) Wilke, Rick (Alicia) Kufahl, and Heather (Fiancé Al) Love; four grandchildren, Aaron Rusch, Noah Rusch, Desiree Zimmerman, and Kyle Zimmerman; three sisters, Norma (Eddie) Densow, Mary Plaskey, and Barb Cardarelle; four brothers, Norman (Mary) Kufahl, Roger (Marge) Kufahl, Arthur Kufahl, and Dale, Kufahl; a brother-in-law, Robert (Marilyn) Hereau; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jim Cardarelle.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Carl’s arrangements.
