Obit: Evelyn E. Jansen, 91, West Bend

Evelyn E. Jansen (nee Weddig) 91, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

She was born November 13, 1924 in Kewaskum to John and Magdalen (nee Kruetzinger) Weddig. While working at her sister Molly Schroeder’s dairy farm, she met and married Peter A. Jansen on May 12, 1945.

While raising her seven wonderful children, Evie worked at The West Bend Company off and on and then worked in the cafeteria at the West Bend High Schools for many years. After her retirement she and Pete spent many happy summers at their trailer on Crooked Lake. She loved traveling and after Pete’s death, she went on many tours and saw the world. In 2010, Evie moved to Cedar Ridge to be near her sister Lillian.  She loved playing Sheepshead and Bridge with her many friends there.

Those Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 7 children; Pat (John) Dorr of Cedarburg, Mary (Jim) Mazur of Jacksonville, Florida, Peter (Gail) Jansen of St. James, North Carolina, Vicki (Brian) Menefee of Layfayette, CO, Linda (Jim) Rintelman of Athelstane, Wisconsin, Jen Koenig of Marshfield and John (Lynne) Jansen of St. Augustine, Florida; 19 grandchildren: 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pete; and her nine brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Grand Hall at Cedar Ridge Apartments with a luncheon to follow where the family will greet relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank her Cedar Ridge friends who have stopped the past few months for all their help, care, and company.
