Obit: Frank J. McCarthy, 96, Richfield

Frank J. McCarthy, age 96, of Richfield was born to eternal life on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 25, 1920 in Dover, WI to John and Margaret (nee Costello) McCarthy. He was united in marriage to Josephine Archibald on January 7, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rocky Point Long Island, NY.

Frank was a proud member of the Operating Engineers for over 60 years, Richfield Fire Department, Richfield Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus.

Loving father of; Kevin, Kathleen (Bob) Kemp, Maureen (Tom) Boll, Michael, Shawn (Bridget), Eileen (Tom) Harju, and Colleen (Rod) Demlang. Loving Grandpa of; Susan (Dan) Shipman, Christine Kemp, Kirk Kemp, Tom, Jessica and Amanda Boll, Shawn and Brandon McCarthy, Erin and Ryan McCarthy, Josh (Elizabeth), Cody, Benjamin, and Tyler Harju, and Blake Demlang. Great Grandpa of Troy Kemp and McKenzie Shipman.  His brother Phillip McCarthy and brother-in-law Dick Robers, as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife Josephine in 2008, his parents, brother, Chuck (Lorraine) and sisters Lucille (Fritz) Degrave, Patricia Robers, sister in-law Colleen McCarthy, and his nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial for Frank will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church (1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus, WI 53033) with Father Bob Bales officiating.  Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery Richfield, Wisconsin on Tuesday October 4, 2016.

Special thank you to the staff on the 2nd and 3rd floors at St. Joseph’s hospital and Kathy hospice for the wonderful and loving care given.
