Obit: Mary Ann Peters, 85

Mary Ann Peters, nee Weiss, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, formerly of West Bend, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the age of 85 years. She was born on August 13, 1930 in Hartford to the late Edwin and Margaret (nee Weninger) Weiss.

On October 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Walter F. Peters at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Following their marriage, the couple settled in West Bend where they made their home and raised their family. Walter predeceased May 14, 2012.

For 28 years, Mary worked at the former Amity Leather Products Company, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling with her husband, reading, needlework and spending time playing with her grand-dog Maggie.

From 1950 until 2014, she was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, and since 2014, was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

She was very kind to everyone and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors include her daughter Linda (Thomas) Peter of Lake Havasu City, AZ, 1 sister Sr. Dorothy Weiss of Milwaukee, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Christine and brothers and sisters Willard Weiss, Sr. Lucille Weiss, Helen Mueller, Edwin Weiss, Jr. and Anthony Weiss.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 25 at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Repenshek presiding. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Angels Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church on Monday from 4 until 5:45 p.m.
