Obituary | Aloysius M. Wojtasiak, 77, of Hartford

July 29, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Aloysius “Al” M. Wojtasiak, 77, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at St Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee surrounded by his family.

Al was born November 12, 1941 in Antigo, WI to Michael and Frances (nee Skarlupa) Wojtasiak. He was united in marriage to Nancy Schumitsch on November 17, 1962 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Antigo, WI.

Upon their marriage, they lived in Milwaukee, where Al started with AO Smith. From there they moved to Hartford in 1965, where they raised their five children. He retired from AO Smith after 39 years. He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, cars and working outdoors. Al liked helping his neighbors and friends, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Nancy; loving children Allen (Cheryl) Wojtasiak of West Bend, Lisa (Gary) Gauger of Kokomo, IN, Rick Wojtasiak of Hartford and Randy (Lindsay) Wojtasiak of Oconomowoc; cherished grandchildren, Brittany (Jordan) Gipe, Mitchell Gauger, Tylor Gauger, Brandon, Cody, Adam, Mia, Cam and Lanie Wojtasiak, and his beloved cat Pumpkin. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Dawn, his parents; parents-in-law, Ben and Berniece Schumitch; sisters Mary Jane Brown and Louise Carr; brother James Wojtasiak and sisters in-law Wilma Wojtasiak and Kitty Schumitsch.

Funeral services for Al will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St. Hartford, WI 53027, with Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Interment in St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery-Hartford
