Obituary | Ardith V. (Westfall) Kieckhafer, 93, of West Bend

July 29, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Ardith Verjean Kieckhafer (nee Westfall), 93, of West Bend passed away Saturday morning, July 27, 2019.

She was born on May 7, 1926 to the late Ervin and Bernice (nee Jacobitz) Westfall in Spencer Wisconsin. Ardith ventured south from her home in Spencer, Wisconsin at a young age with her friend, Isabelle Murphy. She settled in West Bend and joined St. Francis Cabrini church prior to her marriage. On July 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to Harold Kieckhafer in West Bend.

Ardith was a crossing guard in West Bend for more than 36 years. The children she helped were very special to her and included several generations in the same family.

She loved large family gatherings which included lively card and dice games. Trips to Las Vegas with her sisters were treasured memories. No one could outlast the Westfall girls when it came to video poker. Ceramics, quilting and crocheting were among the crafts she enjoyed. Ardith was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Ardith leaves behind to cherish her memory include her four children, Steven, Linda and Mark Kieckhafer of West Bend and Robert Kieckhafer recently of Phoenix, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold “Harry” Kieckhafer; five siblings, Joyce Learned, Donna Sampson and Russell, Frank and Perry Westfall.

A funeral service in remembrance of Ardith will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
