Obituary | Donald Frank Jazdzewski, 94, of Hartford

December 4, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Donald Frank Jazdzewski died November 30, 2019 in Hartford at the age of 94. He was born November 15, 1925 in Milwaukee to parents Frank and Nellie (Rewolinski) Jazdzewski. Despite his mother’s concern that he was not yet old enough to join the military, Don volunteered for the Marines and participated in multiple conflicts in WWII’s Pacific Theatre, including Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa. Upon Japan’s surrender, he went to Nagasaki to help with the reconstruction.

Donald was united in marriage to Lorraine Lacey, who died Feb. 17, 1998. He married Joanna (Wagner) Von Haden on June 24, 2000 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence. Don owned a furniture business, making products for Sears and JC Penney. He also worked as a Motor Vehicle Inspector for the State of Wisconsin. Don enjoyed technology and was always upgrading his computers, audio/video and other household electronics.

Donald is survived by his wife, Joanna; three stepchildren, Jeffrey (friend Patty), John (Michelle) and Janice Von Haden; four grandchildren, Werner, Hailee, Grant and Parker Von Haden. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.

Donald is preceded by his first wife, Lorraine; infant daughter, Karen; one sister, Marion Budny and one brother, Robert Jazdzewski, both of Michigan.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Hwy 175, Hartford on Friday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
