March 15, 2020 – Hartford, WI – Dorothy M. Frey (nee Hahn), 85, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend, with her family at her side. Dorothy was born April 20, 1934 in the Town of Hubbard, WI, daughter of William and Mabel (nee Weber) Hahn. She married Richard Frey on May 12, 1956 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford, WI.
Earlier in her life she worked at several different factories in Hartford. She also did housecleaning and childcare for others while raising her children. She belonged to the Daughters of Isabella at St. Kilian Church, the Ridge and Valley Cruisers Snowmobile Club and more recently the Hartford TOPS organization. Over the years she enjoyed snowmobiling, playing Bingo, trips to the casino, baking, painting, writing letters and socializing with many friends and family. Dorothy loved going to the Milwaukee Brewers games and watching every Green Bay Packer game from home. She also loved caring for her pet cats Shatzi, Dutchess and Dezzy over the years.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Richard of 64 years; children, Duane (Cherie) Frey, Diane (Rick) Steger, Janice (Philip) Klink, and Randy (Rene’) Frey; grandchildren, Nicole, Rebecca, Amanda (Ryan), Katrina (Nate), Kari (Adam), Daniel, Andrea (fiancé, Cody), Nicholas, Krista, Robbie (Melissa), Kelly (William), Leah, and Nathan (Brooke), and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters Lorraine Nagel and Lucille (John) Van Straten; and brothers John (Gloria) Hahn and Jim (Nancy) Hahn; sisters-in-law Annette Hahn and Marian Engle; brothers-in-law Walter Klink, Robert (Shirley) Frey and Ronald (Arlene) Frey, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law John and Armella Frey; grandsons Daniel and David Klink; brothers Harland (Caroline) Hahn, Clement (Margaret) Hahn, Charlie Hahn and Marvin Hahn; sisters Mildred (Frank) Vollman and Mary Klink; brothers-in-law Marvin Nagle and Don Engle; and sister-in-law MaryAnn Frey.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 Hwy 175 Hartford, WI 53027) from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the church from 10 a.m.-10:45a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be celebrated Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rev. Jonathon Schmeckel officiating.
Interment in St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, Hartford.
