Obituary | Erin L. Bauer, 59, of West Bend

March 10, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Erin L. Bauer (nee Levinson), 59, of West Bend died on the morning of Saturday, March 9, 2019 at her home in the loving care of her family.

She was born on May 21, 1959 to James and Carole (nee Elliott) Levinson in Milwaukee, WI.  She lived her adolescent life with her family primarily in Hales Corners, WI, and graduated from Charles B. Whitnall High School, where she met her husband, Brian.  Both Erin and Brian attended Marquette University and Erin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Erin and Brian were married on April 17, 1982.

Erin had an accomplished 31-year career with John Deere, starting in Wisconsin, transitioning to North Carolina for 12 years, and back to Wisconsin.  She developed strong relationships with friends and coworkers wherever she worked and lived.  In addition to being a devoted mother and wife, Erin was also a dedicated volunteer.  In her younger years, she was President of the St. Frances Cabrini Christian Women, a strong service organization within the parish.  She was also a Girl Scout Troop leader and as an engineer strongly supported the Boldt Robotics team at Cabrini.  She was an avid reader and also volunteered at the Cabrini School library. Erin was creative and loved to cook, bake, garden, and craft.  Erin was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 31, and valiantly fought that disease throughout most of her adult life.  Erin was a very humble servant, always having a positive outlook and contagious sense of humor despite life’s many challenges.

Those Erin leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Brian Bauer; her two daughters, Lauren Bauer (Kevin) and Brynn Bauer; her father and mother, James and Carole Levinson; a sister, Kerry (Brian) Miller; three brothers, Patrick (Trudy) Levinson, Michael (Kris) Levinson, and Scott (Julia) Levinson; many other relatives and friends.

Erin is preceded in death by her infant daughter.

A Memorial Mass in remembrance of Erin will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 6 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. Seventh Ave., West Bend.  All are welcome to join the family for a dinner in the church hall following Mass.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial to the American Cancer Society in Erin’s name is appreciated by the family.

The family would like to thank their church family for all their help and care.
