April 23, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Frederick J. Rogers, 93, of West Bend, passed away peacefully at Cedar Community on April 18, with his family spending the day at his side.
He was the eldest son of the late Emil and Ruth (nee Parlow) Rogers.
Fred was born on March 19, 1926 in Michigan. Upon completion of high school, he entered the Navy and served his country proudly through many major battles in the Pacific. Fred loved to fly and built his own aircraft. He was an original member of the EAA in Hales Corners, which is now based in Oshkosh, and later donated a Baby Ace for permanent display. He loved to cook, regardless of the outcome and willingness of participants. Traveling with family was one of his loves and he was quite the avid woodworker, making many cherished items. His Scotch-Irish heritage was very important to him, traveling abroad to research his Family crest. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Those who Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory include his three children, Michael (Jean) Rogers, Dan (Julie Decker) Rogers, and Kate (Bob) Burda; one granddaughter, Shannon Rogers (fiancé Dane Bicott); one sister, Carol Clausius; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Joan (nee Hoyt) Rogers; and his two brothers, Ken and Chuck Rogers.
