Obituary | Janet E. Rothenhoefer, 85, of Hartford

February 24, 2020 – Hartford, WI – Janet E. Rothenhoefer (nee Leising), 85, of Hartford, Wisconsin formerly of Richfield, WI passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at The Wellington Place in Hartford.

Janet was born May 4, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI to Francis and Marie (Kuehne) Leising. She was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Rothenhoefer on September 11, 1954 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI.

Janet was a member of St. Mary of the Hill Parish and loved going to Church. She worked at the Holy Hill café for many years and also enjoyed taking pictures, walking, sewing and teaching residents at Autumn Oaks how to crochet. She loved to help others and would bring communion to Catholic neighbors who were unable to make it to church and volunteering her time at Badger Home of the Blind.

Janet is survived by her children Debbie (Kurt) Leonhardt, Karen (Tony) Muesch, Andy (Sandy) Rothenhoefer, Peter Rothenhoefer, Linda (Scott) Becker, Mark (Mary Ellen) Rothenhoefer, Michael (Lori) Rothenhoefer, Mary (Steve) Nachreiner, Tommy (Michelle) Rothenhoefer, Chrissy (Brian) Purtell and John Becker; cherished grandchildren, Dustin, Kristin, Jennifer, Lindsay, Joseph, Laura, Matthew, Melissa, Brenda, Noah, Brad, Kyle, Craig, Andrea, Nick, Jason, Brandon, Michelle, Zachary, Jacob, Emily, Maddie, Sarah, Katie, Patrick, Mark, Casey, Christopher, Myranda, Trysten, and Taylor; beloved great-grandchildren, Konner, Mckenzie, Luke, Max, Stella, Pippa, Joshua, Conrad, Weston, Layla, Graham, Elliott, Autumn, Ayden, Tyler, MacKenzie, Brylie, Madyson, Emma, Hudson, Bennett, Brooks, Roman, Maeve, Brody, Jaxson, Tate, Grace, Kyler, Kash, Keegan, Leo, and Roman. Sister, Charlotte Dwyer, brother Richard Leising; sister-in-law Lynnette Leising. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents, grandson Jeremy Muesch; brother Johnny (Ruth) Leising, son-in-law Chuck Kenealy and brother-in-law Frank Dwyer.

A Mass of Resurrection for Janet will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the St. Therese Chapel (lower level of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, at Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, WI 53033), Rev. Bonaventure Lussier, OCD officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends in the St. Therese Chapel from 1 p.m.- 2:45 p.m.

Janet’s Committal will follow Mass at St. Mary of the Hill Cemetery in Hubertus.
