Obituary | Joseph A. Foti Jr., 95, of West Bend

July 1, 2021 – West Bend, WI – Joseph A. Foti, Jr. of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee and Wolf River in Langlade County, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Froedtert West Bend Hospital at the age of 95 years. He was born on April 6, 1926 in Milwaukee to the late Joseph, Sr. and Josephine (nee Gagliano) Foti.

Joe, Jr. enlisted into the United States Army, serving during World War II. Following his discharge, he returned to the Milwaukee area.

On July 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to Grace P. Buttitta. Grace predeceased January 24, 2021.

For a few years, he worked as a butcher at Russell Grocery Store and later Sentry Foods. He also worked for the former Milwaukee Boys Club as a custodial engineer and as an assistant camp director and a maintenance operations manager at Camp Whitcomb. Joe then went on to become employed with the Milwaukee School District. He retired after 25 years of faithful service as a school engineer.

After retiring, he and Grace moved to Langlade County. Together, they were active members of the Wolf River community. He was a member of the White Lake Post 524 American Legion where he served a post commander. As a strong man of faith, he was an active member of the St. James & St. Stanislaus Parish. He could be found teaching Sunday school, volunteering with the parish food pantry, helping out with various property maintenance projects, and was more than willing to lend a hand where needed.

Survivors include 5 sons: Joseph, III (Renee), Andrew F. (Phyllis), Paul R. (Jill), David G. (Deborah) and Thomas P. (Michelle); their grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, July 9 at Holy Cross Cemetery chapel from 10:30 until services at 11:30 a.m. with military honors to follow.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
