Obituary | Peter Geringer III, 76, of Hartford

Jan. 13, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Peter Geringer III, “Pete,” 76, of Hartford, Wisconsin (formerly Milwaukee) passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at the Aurora Hospital in Hartford.

Pete was born on January 26, 1942 in Hungary to Elizabeth (nee Weissling) and Peter Geringer II. He traveled to the United States at the age of 8 years old. Pete served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and continued his service as a Milwaukee Police Officer. Pete married the love of his life, Judith E. Gromowski on May 29, 1965 in Milwaukee. He loved being on the water and fishing.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Judy Geringer; dear sister, Elizabeth (Bill) Gloyd; dear cousin, John (Carol) Schaefer; and dear sisters-in-law, Jerry Gromowski, Joan (Juan) Rodriguez, and Bernadette Gromowski. He is further survived by loved nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Frank and Genevieve Gromowski; and brother-in-law, John Gromowski.

Memorial Service will be held to honor Pete’s life on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2:30p.m. in the Chapel of the Flowers at Wisconsin Memorial Park (Main Building, 13235 Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005.) A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of the Flowers on Friday from 1:00p.m.-2:30p.m. Following services, military honors will be presented.

Private committal at Wisconsin Memorial Park 1st floor Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Peter to the Washington County Humane Society
