Obituary | Robert Flasch, 84, of Town of Wayne

March 20, 2020 – Town of Wayne, WI – Robert “Bob” Flasch, 84, of the town of Wayne, decided on Tuesday, March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, to leave the farm he loved so much to enter eternal life on his mother’s birthday.

Robert was born May 21, 1935 to Alphonse and Anne Flasch (McCullough) He married Diane Bonlender on August 29, 1959.

Robert served in the Berlin Crisis (1960-1961), The National Guard, and was stationed in Oklahoma where he and Diane made life-long friends; the Kramers, the Schmidts, and the Schillings. He was extremely proud of his son, Kevin and grandsons, Josh and Jake for their military service.

Robert was a retired farmer and farmed on what was originally his grandfather’s farm for most of his life. All his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren either worked on and or enjoyed the farm throughout their lives. He was especially proud of his son, Jason and grandson, Taylor’s shared interest in all things farming and Farmall.

Robert was a life-long member of St. Kilian’s Catholic Church. He loved tinkering outside for hours, tending to the animals, restoring old tractors, playing Sheepshead, Nascar, and reading – especially anything pertaining to World War II. Robert loved chocolate and could always be found at the end of the wrapper trail he left.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Diane; his daughters, Debbie Flasch, Cindy (Mike) Payne, and Heidi Flasch,; sons, Kevin (Kelly) Flasch and Jason (Maria) Flasch; grandchildren, Chad (Amy Schuppel) Homulth – who was as close to a son to him as is possible, Whisper Rick, Brandon (Heather Cleveland) Flasch, Ryan (Holly Broder) Flasch, Ken (Sarah) Payne, Nick (Kayla Morrison) Payne, Joshua (Taylor), Jacob (Sierra Struck) O’Brien Flasch, Amber (Holden) Manz, Autumn Flasch and Taylor Flasch; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kinsley Homuth, Dakota and Arizona Flasch, Jade Cleveland, Lotus, Nicky, Elijah, and Maddie Payne, Ellie and Logan O’Brien Flasch, Rilee Flasch and Ethan, honorary great-grandson, Alex; his good buddy, Sebastian, and best buddy, Tanner; as well as many other family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Zeno; parents-in-law, Ray and Josephine Bonlender; brothers-in-law, Elroy Schrauth and Orville Kreilkamp; and sisters-in-law, Jeanne Kreilkamp and Doris Schrauth.

Because of current restrictions, a private service will be held for Robert’s immediate family. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at St. Kilian Catholic Church at a later date when restrictions have been lifted.

  1. Bob was a great man! Our memories of him are very fond. We loved his farm all collection and spending time at the farm with him and Diane. We all have an angel watching over us ❤️

  3. I appreciate all Robert did for our family over the years. He mentored my father John Kohl and helped him to deal with the loss of his father at a young age. Robert was like and older brother to my father. Prayers for Robert and his family in this difficult time!
