Obituary | William “Bill” C. Fullhart, 82, of West Bend

February 3, 2020 – West Bend, WI –William “Bill” Fullhart, 82, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Cedar Community in West Bend.

Bill was born on February 27, 1937 to the late Clare and Rose (nee Thompson) Fullhart in Minburn, Iowa. A military veteran, he served honorably in the United States Navy. On March 18, 1961 he was united in marriage to Maybelle Blanchard at Our Saviors Church in Milwaukee. Bill worked as a machinery repairman at Stork Cellramic in Milwaukee.

He was an avid aviator, a licensed multi-engine pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours. Bill was also a member of the Sky Knights Sport Parachute Club of East Troy, Wisconsin, where he commanded his aircraft for enthusiastic skydivers. Bill was an Amateur (ham) radio operator since 1949, making friends all around the world transmitting under the call letters, WN9WCF, KA9GVX, N9IBU, and W9WCF. Additionally, he was a past president of the Washington County Amateur Radio Club, a member of the Milwaukee Radio Amateur’s Club and served as part of the National Weather Service SKYWARN Program, Station ID #Y07W3. Bill also used his amateur radio skills to aid organizers of the City Festival Parade and City of Milwaukee Circus Parade. He was a man of faith and an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of West Bend, WI. Bill shall be missed by all who knew him.

Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 58 years, Maybelle Fullhart; two children, Ed (Deb) Fullhart of Newport News, VA and Bob (Kelly) Fullhart of West Bend, WI; five grandchildren, Melissa (Alex) Werner, Kristen Schoch, Justin (Hannah) Torres, Kyle (Fiancé Taylor) Torres, and Keith Fullhart; nine great grand-children; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Gwen (George) Acheff.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1044 Silverbrook Drive, West Bend, WI.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:15 p m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials are made in Bill’s name to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to thank Debbie, Chaplin Bob, Carol, Kim, Vicki, all the nurses and staff at Cedar Community and especially Lana for all their assistance, care and friendship.

The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service have been entrusted with Bill’s arrangements.
