September 15, 2022 – West Bend, WI – It was late August 2022 when the signage went up for the new sports store on Paradise Drive in West Bend, Wi. Now, with hiring near completion and the store working daily to stock shelves the new Dunham’s is prepping for a mid-October opening.

Management at Dunham’s Sports corporate said a window of October 7 or October 14 will be the store opening.
The ghost letters of the former Boston Store can be seen behind the new sign going up for Dunham’s Sports at 1291 W. Paradise Dr.
It was April 2022 when WashingtonCountyInsider.com first broke the story about a Dunham’s Sports going into the former Boston Store location. If you remember, Elder-Beerman filed bankruptcy in 2018 and the Boston Store closed in West Bend, WI in April 2018.
Dunham’s is expected to open within the coming month and next door, in the former MC Sports location to the west, will be an Old Navy. That story was first posted May 2, 2022 at WashingtonCountyInsider.com
On a history note, MC Sports announced in February 2017 it would be closing its West Bend, WI location along with 65 other stores across the Midwest.
The middle lot where Office Max is located will also be changing. It was first announced June 23, 2022 on WashingtonCountyInsider.com that Office Max was closing in West Bend after being one of the mainstays since 1998. The staff from Office Max will be working in the Menomonee Falls location.
A new Ross Dress for Less will open in the Office Max location.
