October 12, 2020 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend Police Department made the following arrests for OWI during the weekend of October 5, 2020 and October 12, 2020.
OWI-2ND OFFENSE
2200 block Deerfield Drive
On Monday, October 5, 2020 at 10:55 PM, a West Bend Police Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer identified the driver as a 39-year-old man. The officer observed signs the driver was obviously impaired. The driver was arrested for OWI-2nd Offense.
OWI-3RD OFFENSE
North 10th Avenue and West Washington Street
On Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2:17 AM, a West Bend Police Officer stopped a vehicle for traveling the wrong way on a one-way street. The officer identified the driver as a 23-year-old man. The officer observed the driver was intoxicated. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .256, and was arrested for OWI-3rd Offense.
OWI-2ND OFFENSE
South Indiana Avenue and East Decorah Road
On Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 2:58 PM, a caller reported a two-vehicle crash at Indiana Avenue and Decorah Road. Investigating officers learned that an eastbound vehicle struck another vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign. The officer identified the driver of the striking vehicle as a 30-year-old man. The officer observed the driver of the striking vehicle was intoxicated. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .349, and was arrested for OWI-2nd Offense. There were no injuries reported.

On Monday, September 28, 2020 at 12:22 AM, a West Bend Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle sped up, made quick turns, and failed to stop for approximately 1.2 miles. The vehicle eventually stopped and the officer identified the driver as a 22-year-old man. The officer observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests, provided a PBT sample of .107, and was arrested for OWI and Flee/Elude a Traffic Officer.
