Obituary | Paul R. Richter, 86, of West Bend

June 28, 2021 – West Bend, WI – Paul R. Richter, 86, of West Bend, died on Friday June 25, 2021.

He was born June 30th, 1934, to the late Alex and Jessie (Price) Richter.

On March 5, 1970, he married Diane (Montie). Paul and Diane initially lived in Milwaukee, then moved to their hobby farm in West Bend. Paul was very proud to have served in the US Marines.

After his service Paul went to work for A&P as a meat cutter, a salesman for Wagner Sausage and then a salesman for Smith Bros Fisheries in Port Washington. After retirement, Paul liked to keep busy by helping out at A&W Iron and Metal of Kewaskum.

He followed his love for horses by running his business Paul’s Ponies. Paul could often be found at parades, county, and state fairs helping out and visiting with his many friends. One of his favorite things to do was to have coffee with his friends at McDonalds in the morning.

Paul is survived by his wife Diane and children: Kathie (Bobby) Ripple, Robin(Gordy Fell) Richter, and Robert (Lisa) Richter. His four grandchildren: LeAnn (Erin) Marko, Randi (Will Ratz) Ruppert, McKenna Hron, and Alex Richter. His 3 great-grandchildren: McKaylah Hetzel, Annabell Hetzel, and Dante Ruppert-Ratz. His sister-in-law Dorothy Richter, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Albert Richter, his sisters Ruth (Lester) Rudolph, Beverly (Ray) Muehlbach, and Arlene (John) Kushawa, and his granddaughter Trish Engelhardt.

The family is having private services for Paul.

  1. So very sorry to hear of Paul’s passing, My father (Joe Kuklinski) and Paul were close friends, working at Smith Bros for many years, We used Paul’s Ponies for my wedding in 1989 and it was great working with him.
