Families from the Jackson community braved the rainy, chilly temps on Wednesday evening to turn out for the Jackson Fire Department Open House.
Neighbors gathered with their children to climb inside the fire engines, try on their own fire helmet and participate in hands-on activities like using a hose to put out a mock house fire.
October is National Fire Prevention Month and fire departments from around Washington County are opening their doors to the community.
