Retired Waubeka Fire Chief Tom Bublitz has died

December 29, 2019 – Waubeka, WI – The Waubeka Fire Department is announcing the death of retired Chief Tom Bublitz.

Tom passed away at home yesterday, surrounded by family.

Visitation will occur this Friday, January 3, from 4 – 8pm at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Avenue, Port Washington 53074.  A walk-through of fire departments will occur at 7pm.

Just a short bio on Tom.  Tom became a member of the Waubeka Fire Department on March 30, 1965.  He was appointed 2nd Lieutenant in 1969, Captain in 1970.  In 1971 he was elected Assistant Chief, a position he held until being elected Chief in 1982.  He held the position of Chief until retiring in 1989.  He then served from 1990 until 2011 as a Trustee.  In 2006 Tom achieved the rank of Active Life Membership in the department.  In total, Tom had served 54 years and 9 months on the department.

Anyone joining for the fire department walk-through, please be at the funeral home by 6:30pm on Friday January 3.

Visitation is Friday, January 3, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Avenue, Port Washington.

Visitation is also Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at St. John Luther Church, 623 Congress Drive, Newburg.

Service is Saturday, January 4, 2020 starting at 11 a.m. at St. John Luther Church in Newburg.

 

A complete obituary will be posted when information becomes available.  Tom Bublitz was 76.
