April 28, 2021 – West Bend, WI – Cooler temps and cloudy skies did not deter a ground breaking ceremony Wednesday afternoon as work on the trailhead at Rusco Road officially got underway.
The project will benefit those who use the Eisenbahn State Trail. There will be a parking lot, portable bathroom facility, and bike-repair stand. Rusco Road is the furthest southern point of the Eisenbahn State Trail. The paved path extends six miles to the north and then switches to a gravel trail through Kewaskum and up to Eden in Fond du Lac County.
During the ceremony Bike Friendly West Bend and Jeff Puetz were recognized for their dedication to seeing the project to completion.
They were also recognized for raising $20,000.
