Russian Tortoise reported missing from Menominee Park Zoo in Oshkosh

July 20, 2017 – Winnebago Co., WI – The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a tortoise missing from the Menominee Park Zoo.  The tortoise is a Russian Tortoise that is approximately 8” to 10” in length.

The tortoise was discovered missing Wednesday morning.  The tortoise was likely removed from its enclosure by someone and may have been taken from the zoo.

The tortoise is not dangerous to the public.  If it is observed please leave it alone and contact the Oshkosh Police Department.  It is important to know that the tortoise cannot swim and will drown if submerged in water.
