June 18, 2023 – Day ??? Today the Crusade (Sarah’s Crusade for Corey) has taken an official pause.
The injury to Sarah’s shin has become a serious concern. As we work out the details of continuing the journey Sarah is going to get some rest and sound advice on how to proceed in the very near future.
“While we are creatures of comfort there is no comfort in going home,” said Sarah. “Sure we love our own bed, pillows, sheets, room and smells. Not to mention our furry friends that have no clue why we left.
“Coming home to this feels greater than imagined but also feels more like a nightmare. The goal has always been to raise awareness for Cancer and even though this run has come short of the distance, the Crusade has taken on a more powerful force.
“It has brought people together who are complete strangers and created friendships. It has called out for families to remember those who are gone too soon and to pray for those who are still here with us.”
This is not the end of our journey but a completion of the segment. And like the mighty Ice Age Trail there is more than one segment.
