Motor Vehicle Theft 1717 HY 83 Rapid Mart

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen auto at the Rapid Mart located at 1717 STH 83 in the Town of Erin on 9/10/16 at 9:10 p.m. The initial report was a 36-year-old Mequon man stopped for gas and when he went inside to pay, a subject exited the store and entered the victim’s vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a white 2005 Mercedes C24 4 door with Louisiana plates. The victim saw his vehicle go out the north entrance and then turn south on Highway 83. The victim ran after it, stood in the middle of 83, and was struck by the accelerating vehicle. The victim tumbled over the hood and windshield and fell off the passenger side of the vehicle taking the mirror with him. The vehicle then fled eastbound on 167. The victim refused rescue although he had multiple scrapes on his legs and arms.

The follow up investigation revealed that another vehicle described as possibly a blue Sorrento Kia with a temp tag on the back window, had dropped off the main suspect at the gas station. That vehicle also went eastbound after the theft. The only description(s) of the suspects at this point are that they are two male blacks. The investigation has been referred to the detective bureau for more follow-up.

Disorderly Conduct

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a male subject standing on Pioneer Rd near I41 next to his vehicle with no pants on. The incident was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on 9/10/16 at 9:16 p.m.  The suspect vehicle was described as a black Chevy Silverado and no plate was obtained.  Suspect was gone upon the squad’s arrival.

On 9/8/16 at 1:30 p.m. a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy was sent to a commercial business in the Town of Wayne for a theft and fraud investigation.  A worker, identified as a 20-year-old Random Lake woman, advised she had money and credit cards stolen from her purse at the business.

The suspect, later identified as a 25-year-old city of Hartford man, was a temporary employee at the business.  The investigation determined the suspect had made local charges with the credit cards.  The investigating deputy was able to get security footage of the transactions from a local gas station that matched the suspect as well as his vehicle.

The deputy responded back to the business where he arrested the suspect for multiple counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and theft.

Property Damage Only Accident

The Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi tanker accident in the area of Cty Hy H and Kettle Moraine Dr. on 9/7/16 at 2pm.  The investigation revealed the operator, a 61-year-old Edgerton man, was west on County Highway when he lost control in the curve as a result of standing water on the road. This semi was carrying an empty tanker designed for natural gas.  The tractor had severe damage as a result of the crash but the driver was not hurt.  Enforcement action is still pending.
