April 3, 2022 – Sheboygan, WI – On Sunday April 3, 2022 at approximately 2:52 p.m. the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received several 911 calls regarding a single vehicle rollover crash that occurred on I-43 in the area of the 128 mile marker, in the Town of Sheboygan.
Preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was operated by a 24-year-old male from Manitowoc, along with passengers; a 39-year-old female and a 15-year-old male, both from Manitowoc.
The vehicle was initially travelling south on I-43 when it suddenly crossed over the median, rolled and landed on the east shoulder of I-43 north bound. All three occupants required extrication.
The operator was transported with life-threatening injuries via Flight for Life air ambulance to Froedtert Hospital. The passengers were transported via Orange Cross Ambulance to Aurora Sheboygan with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident caused the closure of I-43 north for approximately 3 hours and a cause has yet to be determined. The accident remains under investigation.
