Thanks for supporing a successful Allenton Fish Fry | By Ron Naab

July 15, 2020 – Allenton, WI – The Allenton Annual Picnic Committee wanted to express its appreciation to all who came out to support the July 10, Friday night Fish Fry.

The Picnic Committee is made up of members from the Allenton American Legion Post 483 and Allenton Volunteer Fire Department.

Volunteer Ron Naab posted a challenge to the community to sell 500 meals, which included two 5-ounce fillets of cod, crisscut potato fries, coleslaw and rye bread.  Total meals sold: 700 in 2-1/2 hours!

Unfortunately we had to turn people away and we had some issues with moving traffic through the line.

However, the committee met recently to come up with solutions to serve more people and serve them faster during the fish fry August 14.

Some changes will include more deep fryers, a change in traffic flow and a couple other key adjustments.  The committee has taken on the challenge to sell 1,000 meals.

The next fundraiser is the big Pig Roast on Sunday, July 26.  It will be at the Allenton Fire Station from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the meal will cost $12 each.

“We look forward to a big event for our organizations,” said Naab.

Let’s Get Roasted with Randy Gindt will be doing the barbeque along with cheesy potatoes and much more.
