Top-notch performance by West Bend East wrestling By Allie Boettcher

Dec. 10, 2016 – West Bend, WI – West Bend East Wrestling competed at Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday night for its first conference dual. 

Varsity competed at the Marquette Invitational the next morning. On Friday night East Wrestling lost 48-22 but both JV and varsity put up a great fight.

Last year East only won one match but this year East won 5-11 matches.

On Saturday East varsity wrestling competed at the Tom Burns Invitational in Marquette.

East placed 1st out of 15 teams, which is a great accomplishment.

Jason Myrick placed 2nd and he scored 28 team points. Myrick pinned Austin Ertl in 2:59. Nathan Brockman scored 21 team points and he placed third. Kyle Yochem went 4-1, he placed 2nd, and earned 26 team points. Evan Smith scored 16 team points and took 4th place. Smith pinned Zach Virgin in 45 seconds. Cooper Schlosser took 3rd place and scored 34 team points. Schlosser went 3-1 and pinned Jacob Laack in 1 minute. Bryce Henschel took 1st place and scored 49.5 team points. Cayden Henschel also placed 1st and scored 16 team points. Dan Ciriacks placed 4th and earned 17 team points.
