Veterans Day in Allenton | By Ron Naab

November 12, 2021 – Allenton, WI – Veterans Day for the Allenton American Legion Fohl-Martin Post 483 started with a 8:30 am program at St. Peters Elementary School in Slinger.
At 11 am the Honor Guard started the program for the kids and staff of the Allenton Elementary School.

First was a 21-gun salute outside the school building followed with the students singing and presenting thank you cards to the Honor Guard.
A special guest accompanied the Honor Guard, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald who made a short statement to the students about the reason to honor veterans.
This was followed by Legion member Randy Geier telling the kids how Veterans Day came about in 1919 which was called Armistice Day.
In 1954 the name of the day was changed to Veterans Day.  Many nations join the U.S. on the 11th of November as Veterans Day.
We shall NEVER FORGET those that have made the Ultimate Sacrifice serving others.
