June 16, 2017 – Town of Polk, WI – There’s a sea of cars covering the Washington County Fair Park …. and organizers anticipate it’ll be even more crowded for the final rounds of the U.S. Open this weekend.

The Fair Park was actually Plan B for the golf tournament but soggy conditions and a soft farmers field turned it into Plan A for the remainder of the Open.

Fans are loving it. “Everything was very well organized,” said Paula Becker of West Bend. Becker attended the tournament Wednesday with her friends and family. “The screening was very professional; no problems getting through security and no wait. It couldn’t have been easier.”

On Thursday the coach buses were replaced by yellow school buses. “It’s faster in the school bus,” said one man returning to the Fair Park around 4 p.m. “The ride is a bit bumpier than when we took the coach but I’m not complaining.”

The attendant at the front of security said the buses start running at 5:30 a.m.  He said the ride to Erin Hills and back is free.

It’s anticipated there will be a huge crowd for the final days of the tournament this weekend.
