June 18, 2018 – Barton, WI – Parishioners at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception in Barton got their first look at the interior remodel going on at the church.
For over a month weekly Mass has been held inside the school gym at St. Mary’s.
With much of the painting and patchwork completed, folding chairs were set in rows and Rev. Nathan Reesman held Mass at the church.
Many in attendance couldn’t believe the detail of the hand-painted designs and the gold trim.
There’s still quite a bit of work left to be done as scaffolding that stretches to the ceiling is still in place and the hardwood floor is awaiting carpeting which should arrive in two weeks along with the statues.
Rev. Reesman said they are attempting to be finished by late August when Bishop Jerome Listecki will be the special guest and bless the altar.
