West Bend Police make multiple arrests over the weekend for drinking and drugs

March 13, 2017 –  The West Bend Police Department made the following four arrests for OWI during the weekend of Friday, March 10 through Sunday, March 12.

1500 Block of West Paradise Drive – On Friday, March 10, 2017, at 6:58 PM, West Bend police officers responded to Wal-Mart, 1515 W. Paradise Drive, to investigate a retail theft involving two female subjects who ran from the store with merchandise they had concealed on their persons. The females entered a vehicle in the parking lot and drove away before officers arrived. Investigating officers obtained a description of the vehicle, including a license plate number, and a short time later a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle in Kewaskum. The deputy stopped the vehicle and West Bend police officers responded to the location of the stop. During the investigation the officers observed signs the driver was under the influence of drugs. The Kewaskum woman, 46,  failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI – Restricted Controlled Substances with a passenger under 16 year old age and Retail Theft. Officers took a Kewaskum female passenger, 13, into custody for Retail Theft. The property stolen from Wal-Mart was recovered from the vehicle.

100 Block of South River Road – On Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 7:13 PM, a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was under the influence of drugs. The Slinger man, 37, failed the standardized field sobriety tests and during the investigation the officer recovered heroin, and drug paraphernalia used to ingest illegal drugs. The man was arrested for OWI – 2nd Offense, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

1600 Block of South Main Street – On Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 7:20 PM, a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle also had expired registration plates. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The Kewaskum man, 29, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .13% in a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.

1200 Block of W. Decorah Road – On Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 3:30 a.m., a West Bend police officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and observed signs the driver was intoxicated. The West Bend man, 21, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .103% in a PBT, and was arrested for OWI.
