Those present during the presentation of a donation to the Allenton American Legion Post 483, are Bob Wiedmeyer, Mark Schellinger, Ralph Hagner joined by Bill Rate.

This very thoughtful donation from Bob’s Main Street Auto & Towing and Delta Defense helped the post achieve its goal of 700+ wreaths.

The Wreaths Across America mission is to Remember, Honor, and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington, as well as at veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states, at sea and overseas. Remember our veterans who are devoted sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers in the line to protect our freedoms.

Honor our veterans by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies each December on National Wreaths Across America Day. Teach younger generations about the value of their freedom and the importance of honoring those who sacrificed so much to protect those freedoms.

The official laying of the wreaths on 551 graves by the Allenton American Legion Post will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 18.

The 15 cemeteries include: Sacred Heart, Saints. Peter & Paul (Nenno), St. Anthony, St. Mathias (Nabob), St. John’s UCC (Town of Wayne), St. Peter Lutheran (Town of Wayne), St. Lawrence (Town of Hartford), and Zion Lutheran (Town of Wayne) in the Allenton area.

In Slinger wreaths will be at Union, New and Old St. Peter’s, St. Paul’s, St. John and Faith Cemeteries.
