July 13, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Starting out as a small local gas station in 1954 on the corner of Main Street and Hwy. S in Kewaskum, Herriges Oil, located on the corner of Hwy 45 and Hwy. 28 has seen a number of affiliation changes.
According to one of the current owners, Mark Herriges, his dad started the business on Main Street & Hwy S in 1954. He moved to the current location on the corner of 45 & 28 in 1971. It had previously been a Shell Station and switched to Phillips 66 in 1990; last week they changed to Sunoco.
The pumps underwent changes last week with the computer changeover taking most of Thursday, July 6.
The official switch to Sunoco went into full effect last Friday, July 7, when the temporary sign went up.
Herriges said, “We are still a full-service station like we always have been, and not a grocery store. We will pump your gas and check your oil, as well as service your car.”
Sunoco is located at 1245 Fond du lac Avenue.
