April 21, 2021 – Hartford, WI – Charles John Schwalbe, 77, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Monday, April 19, 2021.
Charles was born February 12, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI to Clarence and Jeanne (nee Lepien) Schwalbe. He graduated Hartford Union High School in 1962. He served our country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Allenton VFW Post 483. Charles was united in marriage to Mary Ann O’Connor at Holy Hill in Hubertus. He worked in sales for 38 years and after retirement enjoyed driving bus for Riteway Inc., for the Slinger School District. He loved golfing and playing cards with his friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Lucille Schwalbe; beloved wife, Mary Ann; dear daughter, Michelle Radish; sister, Jeanne Schwalbe; stepbrother, Wayne Brose; and brothers-in-law, Jerome and Edward O’Connor, and Vincent Scheerer.
Charles is survived by his dear son, Christopher Schwalbe and dear son-in-law, Andrew Radish; loving grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas, Maria, Benjamin, and Luke; stepsister, Gale (David) Guenterberg; and sisters-in-law, Diane Brose, Virginia O’Connor, Carolyn Scheerer and Patricia O’Connor. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and dearest friend Carolyn Ingham.
A Memorial Service for Charles will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor John Bass officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Inurnment with military honors in St. Kilian Cemetery, Hartford, WI.
