House in Boltonville sustains $150,000 damage following Friday night fire

On Friday October 14, 2016 at approximately 4:43 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s was notified of a house on fire located at 2039 Whitewood Drive in the Township of Farmington.

Deputies and firefighters from the Boltonville Fire Department were subsequently dispatched to the scene. Assistance was also requested from Fillmore Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, Deputies and Boltonville firefighters observed smoke coming from the lower level of the residence.

 

Firefighters were quickly able to bring the fire under control, but the home sustained significant smoke damage.

 

The homeowner was able to evacuate herself, her 2 daughters and the 2 family dogs, with no reported injuries. It is estimated the home sustained $150,000 in damage.

 

Whitewood Drive at Hy 144 was closed for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to facilitate firefighting operations.

 

The matter remains under investigation by Sheriff’s fire investigators, however the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

  1. Chief Ramthun told me they used the recently acquired FST fire suppression device prior to the arrival of the engines. The device suppressed the fire to an almost extinguished state.
