There were about 50 in attendance including Hartford Rotary members, HUHS administration and school board, 13 students and local construction companies.
Murphy said the goal is to teach students the total aspect of building a home from designing to budgeting expenses, acquiring a loan, using skills to help with the build, selecting fixtures, landscaping and finally selling the home.
The 1,950-square-foot house will feature a walkout basement. This is the first house built in 9 years and the 20th built in the last 30 years.
