Obit: Cade Peter Werner, 14, of Rubicon. Cade was an organ donor who was able to give 6 gifts prolonging and saving other lives.

March 16, 2017 – Rubicon, WI – Cade Peter Werner, better known by his Dad as “Weezi”, age 14 of Rubicon gained his bright and colorful angel wings on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Cade was an organ donor who was able to give six gifts prolonging and saving other lives.

Cade was born on March 1, 2003 in Hartford, WI to Gloria C. (nee Schmitt) and Thomas A. Werner. He was in 8th grade at Honor Intermediate School and was a very intelligent student who took excelled classes at Hartford High School. Cade was also a talented athlete who played basketball, baseball, and ran cross country.


He had eagle eyes which aided his skills in hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. His great sense of humor, spunk, and wit will be greatly missed.

Cade is survived by his loving and proud parents, Gloria and Thomas Werner; best big brother, Cody; loving grandparents, Margaret Mary Schmitt and Mary Lou (Charles) Zurn; and his dearest aunts and uncles, Mary (Ally) Rusch, Lucille (Jim) Becker, Roger (Lisa), Paul (Hollie), Mark (Karen) Schmitt, Denise (Steve) Klink, Joyce (friend, Dan Gassen) Schmitt, Terri Werner and Corey (Tonya) Werner. He is further survived by many loved cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandfathers, Peter A. Schmitt and Richard A. Werner and cousins, Anna Rusch and Kurt Klink.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, (W1170 Rome Road, Rubicon WI 53078) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating.  Interment in St. John Cemetery.

Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00-6:45 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.  The Hartford Fire Department will be present at 1:30 p.m. for an honorary walk-through.

Memorial contributions received in memory of Cade are greatly appreciated. They will benefit a future academic/athletic scholarship, Masses in his name, among other charities.

Cade’s Family would like to share their sincerest appreciation to: the Hartford Fire & Rescue Department, the Neosho First Responders, Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, Flight Life for all they did to help Cade, the incredible caring nursing staff and doctors at Children’s Hospital, all of Cade’s visitors who’ve offered endless support, well wishes, and all others who sent kind words of comfort. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you.
