Obit: James P. “Jim” McKinnon, 87, of West Bend.

March 30, 2017 – West Bend, WI – James P. “Jim” McKinnon, 87, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 29, 2017, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend, surrounded by his family.

 

Jim was born on May 4, 1929, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of the late George and Lydia (Knoll) McKinnon. On August 9, 1952 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Rellihan in Elgin, Illinois.

 

Jim was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the end of World War II and also for the Korean Conflict. Jim was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed all sports including football and NASCAR. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 

Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Ann; three children, Kevin (Lori) McKinnon of Hubertus, Patrick (Toni) McKinnon of Miami, Florida, and Timothy (Mary) McKinnon of Menomonee Falls; five grandchildren, Joe, Tim (Carrie Weber), Stacy (Jared) Black, Chris (Nicole Guagliardo), and George; other relatives and friends.

 

A Memorial Mass for Jim will be held at 4:00 p.m. p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Avenue, in West Bend with Father Pat Heppe officiating. Private burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

 

Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of Mass.

 

Memorials to the Wounded Warriors are appreciated.

 

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Jim’s arrangements.

 

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Cedar Lake Health Care Center for their loving care provided to Jim.
