Obit: Jeffrey “Jeff” P. Retzlaff, 56, of Slinger. Jeff worked at Fox Brother’s Piggly Wiggly since 1977. He loved being part of the Slinger Volunteer Fire Department.

Feb. 28, 2017 – Slinger, WI – Jeffrey “Jeff” P. Retzlaff, age 56, passed away peacefully Monday, February 27, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, at his home in Slinger.  Jeff was born on September 1, 1960 in Hartford, WI to Arnold and Mabel (Conrad) Retzlaff.  He was raised in Slinger and graduated from Slinger High School.

Jeff worked at Fox Brother’s Piggly Wiggly since 1977.  He married his love, Mary (nee Hansen) Retzlaff on June 23, 1984 at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.  Jeff loved being a part of the Slinger Volunteer Fire Department, a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Slinger and being a part of the Lutheran Boy Pioneers.  Jeff enjoyed fishing with his children and camping with his family.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Mary; son Tyler, daughter Lindsey; brothers Ralph (Cheryl), Warren Retzlaff, John (Dianne) Retzlaff, Allen Retzlaff, David (Cindy) Retzlaff; sister Angela (Ronnie) Retzlaff-Nemec; brothers-in-law Jeff (Beverly) Hansen, Ron (Kathy) Hansen, Michael Hansen, Brian (Karen) Hansen; godfather Paul Fischer; and his beloved granddog Kyra Lynn and fur daughter Calypso.  Jeff is further survived by his godson Nathan (Melissa) Retzlaff, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Gene A. and Juanita J. (nee Winget) Hansen, brother-in-law Gary Hansen, sister-in-law Shirley Retzlaff and his fur daughter Sandy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00PM Sunday, March 5, 2017 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (799 St. Paul Dr. Slinger, WI 53086) with Pastor Robert Fleischmann presiding.  Visitation will be from 1:30PM until 4:45PM at church in the auditorium.  Interment will be at 10:00AM Monday, March 6, 2017 at Union Cemetery (Corner of Hwy 144 & Heder Dr. Slinger).
