Obit: Mercedes Hetebrueg, 88, of West Bend

Jan. 13, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Mercedes A. Hetebrueg (nee Lehnerz), passed away Saturday January 13, 2018 at Serenity Villa in Slinger at the age of 88 years. She was born on June 26, 1929 to John and Barbara (nee Schneider) Lehnerz. On August 27, 1949 she married Robert H. Hetebrueg at St Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels, and the couple lived in West Bend.

Mercedes is survived by her children; Bob (Katy), Russ (Mary Ellen), Ruth (Dan) Sutton, Sue (Dan) Martens, Mary (Jeff) Des Rosier and Lisa (Steve) Sukawaty; 14 grandchildren; Fay (Tony) Olla, Karly (Chris) Biertzer, Abby (Steve) Melstrand, Sara (Daniel) Jimenez, Leah Hetebrueg, Andy (Britni) Hetebrueg, Dan (Tina) Sutton, Tom (Alex) Sutton, Mallory (Spencer) Lichon, Morgan Martens, Ian, Alec and Max Des Rosier, and Nya Sukawaty,— 26.5 great grandchildren; sister Joan White, brothers in-law Paul (Sandy) Hetebrueg, Ed (Joan) Hetebrueg, sisters in-law Lucille Geidel and Sr. Susan Hetebrueg, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Mercedes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, brothers Albion (Jean) Lehnerz and Harold Lehnerz, sister Genevieve Lehnerz, brother in-law Cecil White, brother in-law Merlin Geidel, brother and sister in-law Keith and Mary Knoll, sister in-law Elvira Hetebrueg,

Mercedes loved spending time with her family, watching the Brewers, playing cards, fishing, and also enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids in their sports and activities. Mercedes was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were grown, she later worked as a sales clerk at Shopko for over 25 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 6 pm Wednesday January 17 at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 18th Avenue, West Bend) with Fr. Patrick Heppe presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday January 17 from 3 pm until time of Mass at 6 pm. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park.Memorials to the Leukemia Foundation, in honor of her grandson Dan, are appreciated.

The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Villa, Dr. Michael Mosley and Horizon Hospice for all the care they gave to our Mom.
