Obit: Robert “Bob” Georg, 81 Fond du Lac

Robert “Bob” H. Georg, 81, of Fond du Lac died at home on July 24th surrounded by his daughters.  He was born in Fond du Lac on Feb. 5, 1935, the son of late Harold and Theresa Vandermolen Georg.  He graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1953.  After graduation he entered the US Army and served his country from 1954 until 1956 as a corporal in Okinawa.  He married Patricia Lemke on October 18, 1958 and they had two children, Kathy and Judy.  She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2001.

Bob worked 5 years for the Northwestern Railroad and 25 years for Fred Ruping Leather Co.  He was a charter member of the Wescot Sportsmans Club for 56 years.  He was also a member of the Eagles Club for 43 years.  Bob was a proud member of the NRA.  From 1971 to 2001, Bob enjoyed going up to Florence County deer hunting.  He was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Nascar.  Bob was loved by many as his kindness and humor touched all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his two daughters:  Kathy (Rick) Strebe of Kennesaw, GA and Judy (Steve) Plautz of Fond du Lac, one granddaughter Kimberly Strebe and one sister Elaine(late Carlton “Bud”) Moss of Fond du Lac, brothers-in-law David (late Alice) Pittl and Lloyd (Betty) Lemke and sisters-in-law:  Marilyn (Gord) Zoch, Joan (late Billy) Lemke all of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, best friend Les (Shirley) Nussbaum and his German Shepherd granddaughter Josie whom he adored.  .

Memorial services with be held on Thursday July 28th at 4:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac.  Visitation will be Thursday July 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorials are appreciated to the family.
