She was born on December 12, 1940 to the late Frederick and Louise (nee Ruedebusch) in Beaver Dam, WI. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and worked as an assistant bookkeeper at Beaver Dam City Hall for most of her life. On May 5, 1987 she was united in marriage to Fred Micheels in Elm Grove, WI. They then remodeled a farmette in West Bend, WI which began a new chapter of their lives. She often gave ‘hang on tight’ golf cart rides to friends and family around their property.

Jan enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, gardening, golfing, politics and watching sports. She was a big fan of the Packers and Badgers, and rarely missed a game. She loved animals and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In passing, Jan leaves behind a blended family of two children, Paula (Kevin) Lucius of Madison, WI and Kristen (Mike) Mueller of Allenton, WI; Fred’s three children, Richard (Angie) Micheels of Carmel, IN, Denise (Travis) Morris of Kokomo, IN, and Alan (Trisha) Micheels of Nobleville, IN; 13 grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, and a beloved cat, Beau. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Micheels and her brother, Richard (Jean) Hamann.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan’s name to the Senior Center, Humane Society, or Shalom Wildlife Center would be greatly appreciated.

Jan’s family would like to personally thank Debbie, Bev, Casey, Carolyn, Kim, and Paula from Cedar Community Hospice. Their compassionate care and support during this difficult part of Jan’s journey made all the difference.

A private celebration of Jan’s life will be held on a later date.
