Sheboygan Co. Sheriff investigates officer-involved shooting | By Sheriff Cory L. Roeseler

August 3, 2023 – Sheboygan, WI – On Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at approximately 4:49 p.m. Officers from the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit attempted to take a 37-year-old male into custody as a result of warrants for his arrest at the Mobile Gas Station at 521 S. Commercial Street in the City of Neenah. The subject was in the gas station when confronted by the officers.

Preliminary investigation would suggest the subject displayed a weapon. Officers from this task force used deadly force.

 

The suspect was shot and medical aide was rendered. The suspect was transported to Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah where he died from his injuries. No Officers were injred during the incident.

 

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has been requested to lead the investigation to conduct an outside transparent investigation as this incident involves various local agencies.  The Winnebago Area MEG is comprised of agencies within Outagamie, Winnebago, Fond du Lac and Calumet Counties along with DCI (Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations).

 

This an ongoing investigation and details are still being developed as it relates to this investigation. No additional details will be provided at this time, there will be more information relating to this investigation later Thursday, August 3, 2023. There is no additional threat to the community.
