September 23, 2022 – West Bend, WI – The West Bend West Spartans matched up against the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes. The Spartans fought a hard battle but unfortunately fell short with scores of 21 – 25, 22 – 25, 26 – 24, 21 – 25.
Megan Spaeth had a great defensive game with 20 digs, several against Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes outside hitter Zoe Behrendt.
Kylee Altendorf led the team with 12 kills, followed by Breleigh Ustruck with 10. Maddie Abel led the team with 20 assists while Gianna Hemauer had 14 assists and 5 ace serves.
The Spartans are 3 – 2 in the North Shore Conference and the next conference matchup is Thursday, September 29 against Port Washington in West Bend with a game time of 7 p.m.

About the authors: Paige Guse is a sophomore at West Bend West. She has been playing volleyball since 4th grade and is a defensive specialist. She also plays softball and basketball for West High School.
Sophie Dahlberg, is a senior at West Bend West. She is also a defensive specialist and has been playing volleyball since fifth grade. She is involved in school with clubs and is part of the Dolphins team and is the vice president this year. She plans on going to UW Madison or UW La Crosse next year.
