Monday’s call came in at 8:20 a.m. for a structure fire with a person trapped in the basement at 4947 Eagle Lane in the Town of West Bend.
West Bend Fire Chief Gerald Kudek said fire crews arrived on scene within 10 minutes. They rescued an 18-year-old female from the lower level and she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Multiple departments were called to the scene including Allenton, Jackson, Slinger, Kohlsville, Kewaskum, Filmore, Germantown, St. Lawrence, Boltonville, Hartford, Saukville and West Bend.
Water was trucked to the scene with about 10,000 gallons on hand.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The amount of damage to the home should be released after a follow up by the insurance agency.
